ALEXANDRA PARK

Public BBQ

Alexandra Park proves that sometimes the best discoveries hide in plain sight along Queensland's rivers. This Bundaberg gem combines everything a family could want: free barbecue facilities shaded by generous trees, a surprisingly delightful little zoo with emus and dingoes, and prime riverside real estate overlooking the Burnett River. The children's playground sits conveniently next to covered barbecue areas - a stroke of planning genius that lets parents cook while keeping one eye on the kids. Historic artillery pieces add an unexpected educational element, though the real entertainment comes from passing trains rumbling across the nearby bridge. The zoo, completely free and impeccably maintained, makes this more than just another riverside park. It's the sort of place that turns a simple barbecue into an unexpectedly memorable day out.
